- You've made life too hard for yourself.
You've made life too hard for yourself.
You’ve finally decide to lose 30-50lbs.
You download MyFitnessPal and get a gym membership. Wow!
But when it comes to actually tracking food, you have to scroll 4 app screens over to reach MyFitnessPal.
In your head, you think, “ugh, I'll just track the next one.”
As pathetic as that may be, that is a huge roadblock you’ve made for yourself.
I don't say pathetic to make fun of you.
What I mean is that humans are easily dissuaded by any kind of friction.
If they have to scroll an extra app screen to reach an app, they're less likely to do it.
Same thing applies if that gym membership you got is for a gym that's 48 minutes away.
You still might track your food, and you still might go to the gym, but it's going to be unnecessarily challenging.
Here's what you're going to do to reduce friction:
Put MyFitnessPal on the main home screen of your phone, so it's in your face every time you open your phone.
This way, there are no extra steps. As for your gym that's almost an hour away, change to a closer gym.
If that's not possible, use your gym membership money to buy some equipment for home, whether it be dumbbells or bands or something else.
Every extra step you put between you and your goal is an extra reason for you not to do it.
Remove as many steps as possible.
Remove all the friction.
You wanna be like Lube Man with your goals.

Slide right into success.

Kevin Tejada
